night riding permitted/forbidden at:

Postby kevrider » Mon May 30, 2011 9:32 am

personally, i have a hard time in the heat and i'm not an early bird, so i'll probably try to ride later and later as we move towards july/aug. trying to figure out where to go. i'm new to night riding, so i don't know the rules yet....

Herbs: forbidden
WRTs: permitted

what about TDW? Stanky?

i rode TDW for the first time yesterday. yeah, a mudhole here, a fall line there, but that trail is so much more sustainable than the WRTs, please let them be night rideable. a little terrain relief is a beautiful thing.

Here is the official information I found.

From the Shelby Farms web site:

Hours of Operation

The Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. (www.sunrisesunset.com provides sunrise and sunset times).
That would include the TDW. Rangers do clear the park and lock the gates at sundown. The WRT would come under that also but is not being enforced other than locking the gate on Walnut Grove.

From the Bartlett Parks Dept web page:

Ordinance No. - Regulation
20-505 ------- Parks are closed from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am. Looks like an evening ride is OK.

I've stopped and talked to multiple police officers at Stanky while night riding and there have never been any problems.
