WRT tree cutting Saturday Mar. 19, 9:00 WG

Postby Brad C » Thu Mar 17, 2011 10:23 pm

Reports are that there a number of fallen trees on the WRT. These resulted from the storms and windy days recently. The trails are reported dry enough but the high Wolf River may require some alternate routes be taken.

Meeting at Walnut Grove trail head Saturday morning at 9:00.

I’ll do some scouting tonight to pin point work areas. There should not be too much to do, the “beavers” have been keeping the trails in good shape over the winter.

I'll be there too, with saw. As of Wednesday, there were four trees down on the yellow. Should not take long with all the help!
Is it time to ride yet?

Thanks to everyone who helped clean up the WRT on Saturday. We cleared the tree down on the yellow trail near WG. The trees down to the north were also cleared. We also cleared two leaning trees on levee 1 and opened up the big tree in the pipeline corridor at the WG entrance.

Thanks, everyone!

Trails were really nice yesterday afternoon. Wet in the usual places but should dry out in the next few days of 80 F+ weather.
