Adam,
When I lived in Cleveland at least once a year a visit to Cedar Point was required. Absolutely the best all-around amusement park I ever visited. We still go back there every couple of years or so.

Funny thing about the spiral project, I find that a moving bicycle will almost naturally seek a “spiral path”. Try doing a 180 degree turn at moderate speed on a wide open parking lot. If you could ride through a puddle and get the tires wet so that you could see the path taken you would realize that the bike naturally makes a spiral not a curve as you lean into the turn. Why bother designing a spiral when all I have to do is clear a path and let the riders find the perfect “line”, which turns out to be a spiral. 8)

The majority of the work will be grooming the trail tread by exposing solid ground. The trail is covered with layers of leaves and loose top soil. My snow plow blade will do most of the work but there is always a need for hand work.

So to answer your question; bring a rake if you have one, I have a fire rake that can you can use.

Steve, have rake will travel... maybe my sweetie too. 8-)

I got out this afternoon and cut the two trees blocking the loop.

The loop is ready for grooming Saturday morning, below is a picture of the cedar tree which the trail is named for.

You can see that the new loop trail needs scraping and bike traffic.

Below my bike is parked marking the entrance to the loop, if you ride Herb much you will recognize this section of trail.

Below Cedar Point is off in the distance.

Great addition Steve. Rode it Thursday and Friday before grooming and again today after groomming. Love it. Now we just have to get it packed in.
Thanks
