Postby Brad C » Fri Jul 20, 2012 8:28 am

Rich K. has identified a few trees that need to be cleared. We are meeting Sunday morning (7-22) at 7:00 at the Raptor Center on Moore Rd.

This trail work has been cleared with Shelby Farms Park management, which sent its thanks.

7:00 was mutually agreed upon. It is going to be HOT and the plan is to get in and get out before the heat sets in for the day.

This was a short but much needed trail day. The main objective was this tree that fell lengthwise in the safety bypass that was done in May by Shelby Farms rangers. The tree was rotten near the roots and did not have a crown. That makes this a Hurricane Elvis tree that lost its top 9 years ago and just fell now.
