Steve,

I think there's still also one down in the archery area. It's a short walk from the parking lot if you go in by the fire road by the archery pavilion. If walking from the parking lot it'll be just past the end of the long rooty straight section that runs along the waters edge (if the water wasn't so low). It's right where you saw that deer standing next to the trail when we did the lap in the light rain two weekends ago.

If I don't run into you out there tomorrow I'll see you next Saturday morning.

Any idea when you may head out to the one near Lakeview Rd? I'm shooting for an 8:30am rollout for first lap and planning to do at least 2, maybe 3 laps. From what I've heard about the one down by Lakeview it may be better to have someone assist with it.

Thanks Larry,
I got holiday visitors at home, I can't make it to Herb before 10AM.

If the tree is too large I'll wait for a day when I can get help. However I have been watching enough logging shows on the "Discovery Channel" so think I can handle anything on the ground. :)

Absolutely butch!

We have to do a little "wood work" also, so maybe you can teach us something again.

The trail is ready for us, the only "extra" work needed is one tree down shortly after the two dips (past arch bridge). Steve, it's about the same size as the one you cleared in the archery area on Monday. It's in surpsingly great shape out there considering the rainfall we've had since Wednesday evening.

Thanks to Butch, Steve K. Larry K, the other Larry, Alan B, and Mark A. for your help on setting the bridge in the creek on the arched bridge reroute. That little bridge rides sweet! We reworked a section of the original Scout Troop 30 project bridge from 1992 (old wobbly bridge) to cross that little creek on the reroute. The reroute eliminates the root section and the hard turn at the end of the bridge. There is now a straight on approach for around 50 feet or more. I will have pictures up later.

For several of us the day started early with tree cutting in Shelby Farms between WG and GTN trail heads. It's been a long day!
