Stanky Creek Trail Work Day, Sat Sept 29th 8am

Stanky Creek Trail Work Day - Sat, Sept 29 at 8am-12am
Meet in the pit area.
I have reports of 4 trees down and some ruts starting to form in the creek crossing entrance and exit. In addition, there are some face slappers and debris that needs addressed and the pit area needs cleaned up and mowed. I will try and coordinate having the trees cleaned up over the next few weeks to help your flow during your 12 hour pre-race rides. If you're able to get out there and clear the trees let me know. If you know exactly where these trees are (and are able to describe it), let me know because I can get in and out with a saw quickly if I know where to go. Otherwise, we will get them on Sept 29.

I'll bring the MSTA trail tool collection for dirt work where needed. In addition, I'll sharpen the mower blade and bring that for the pit area. Maybe bring the small gas grill and flip some burgers to go with the frosty beverages that certainly will show up.

Email will go out today (9-24). In a day or two the volunteer needs will go out in email.

I haven’t ridden Stanky in years so I don’t know the overall condition, so I must ask: Is there a need for me to bring the DR bush hog?

Steve,
I don't see any need for the DR. I cut it with a riding mower in june and knocked down all the big stuff, what has grown back can be cut with regular mowers which I think we got covered.
Thanks,
Victor

I should be there and will contribute the refreshments for proper work and post work hydration. I am on call this weekend but will be there as long as I don't get a call.

Weather is looking great too!

Thanks to all who showed Saturday. We really got a lot done and the trail is in awesome shape. Great things done and we were all rewarded with some excellent pasta and chicken salad sandwiches.
