Will do, I will most likely be running around like a fool trying to get supplies and people where they need to go, but I will eventually make my way up there. Pretty stressed about the trail this year, but John & co. just did their lap and did a bunch of work and reported back that it is starting to come together.

Thanks!! to everyone who is helping out with the trail, appreciate any and all help.

We cleared all the downed trees with the chainsaw last night along with much of the debris on the trail and faceslappers. All were in agreement that the trail was way better than we thought it would be.

There was no standing water anywhere. There were a few muddy spots, but they seemed to be firming up and easy to ride.

The only issue with the trail is that the thread is a little skinny in sections. The PI is starting to grow in, but we were riding on the PI trying to start the kill process. Its not high enough to hit your ankles for the most part and if people will ride on it a few laps, it will die off pretty fast. The blue trail and the yellow were good to go, except someone should maybe tend to the multi-sectional bridges in the middle where you are close to the houses. They are spread around and need to be aligned. The white trail is in great shape except for the PI.

It would be good to mow the area just behind the parking lot in addition to the pit area. The grass is pretty high and its a small strip, but I see people using that space to work on bikes and stuff.

Its going to be good!!

Awesome work day Saturday. I counted 18 people and I am sure I missed a few. That isn't counting the Thursday group either. Loads of work done and the trail is in great shape.

Thanks to all who came out and helped with the day.

This weekends races should be perfect!

A big thanks to all who came out and helped with the Stanky Trail Work Day this past saturday. We had a great turn-out and got a lot of work done in about 4 hours which allowed for a few hours to enjoy a few beverages. I think Larry is correct with the 18 number and the best thing about the 18 that showed up is that they were all workers.

Trail is trimmed back, downed trees removed, ditches and ruts filled, creek crossing fixed, bridges fixed, face slappers removed, pit area mowed and raked, etc, etc, etc......

Look forward to seeing everyone at the race next weekend and out on the trail all summer long. Giddy Up!!

Larry D., Victor or Irving;
I didn’t DR all of the “Wino Loop” on Saturday, if you could take a look at it if you are taking a lap this week could you determine if I need to go back there and finish? I could DR the remainder of the Wino Saturday morning before the TT. I would like that loop to look good especially because this is TN State Championship race on Sunday……..need to make a good impression on the “out of town” folks. 8)

I rode a lap today--Stanky received a shower, so it was surprisingly slick. Nonethless, was great.

Steve, the Wino loop is perfect--you mowed the whole thing. The section of the White that still needs to be cut is AFTER the Wino and BEFORE the BMX park. The PI was nipping at my ankles. You could park in the pit area and then head straight for the BMX park (if the bridge will hold the DR). Then, pick up the White on the far (north side) and cut until you hit the Wino loop.

The rest of the trail was really well cleared and pretty awesome--best shape I've seen in years. Great job everyone!

Steve,
We got the wino with weedeaters where you left off. Rich is right, that one section is the only section that remains and we have plans to get it with weedeaters this week. If for some reason we are unable to get it by Friday, i will leave you a message on this thread to bring the DR on saturday morning. It is actually an easy area to get to.

Thanks for the update.....I think I'll do something I have not done in years, actually take a lap and see how Stanky rides. A bunch of improvements I need to experience.

Yeah, he comes out of the darkness every now and again and makes his presence known. He will be the master chef for Sunday's BBQ!
