Grays Creek Trail Work Day, Saturday July 13, 7am

Postby gasiorv » Thu Jul 11, 2013 11:44 am

In preparation for the upcoming One Lap Of Memphis (aka Ironbutt) on July 20........

Grays Creek work day this saturday, July 13. Meet in GT lot (dirt lot next to ditch) at 7am. Depending on how many show and how many chainsaws, etc.... we will break up in teams of two and head out. 1st team stops at the 1st tree down and goes to town, 2nd team keeps going to next tree, third team keeps going.........and then leapfrog all the way to Grays and then possibly houston levee. Can grab face slappers, etc... on the way back, or if enough people that could be a few person job. Rain or shine (minus potential tornado) I will be there, this needs done.

Victor,
Your request comes a little too late for me, I’m committed to something else this Saturday.
However, Brad C. and I have been doing Wolf River Trail upkeep after work every Wednesday this month. Next Wednesday July 17th we could work the orange trail based on your report if it needs mowing. My DR can’t get all the way to Grays but I can make it to the first steep crossing.

Let me know how I can help.

Steve,
Thanks. Hopefully we will get it all done on Saturday and won't need anything next wed, but it is nice to have a back-up plan!!

I appreciate Brad C and you working on the trails. I rode the WRT from the Greenline to GT last night for the first time in a long time and there is definetly signs of work being done, and it is apparent when you get to a section that you have not got to yet. I was also amazed at how many low sections (caused by winter riding) are still holding water.
