Herb Parsons Trail Work day Sat. May 30 - CANCELLED

MSTA is coordinating a trail workday Herb Parsons for May 30th. Start time is 9:00 at the MSTA Tent. There will be a quick pre work meeting and briefing before breaking into groups. Some will be on bikes, some will probably walk to the work areas.

If you have them please bring Shovels, McClouds, Loppers, Wheelbarrows, Gloves - We will be cutting wood for filling some wet areas. (Chainsaws will be operated by trained people)
Wheelbarrows - We will be moving Gravel! (If we get enough people)...If you have a weed-eater we can assign work areas to these people so bring it. Bring water and bug repellant

Please RSVP so we can get a headcount. It helps us plan the day better.

There are going to be 2 primary focused areas . Each proposed area will have people assigned as crew leaders who with be briefed on task details in depth:
1) Archery area where the split bridge currently is placed. This area needs to be cleared upper flow area from debris. Place gabion stone upstream if we can obtain. Place a culvert which I'm getting Brad Smith graciously donated to the betterment of the trail and then back fill with the gravel .
2) The small area about 1/2 mile from Lakeview going CCW. This area needs corroding a small reroute developed with split logs and gravel placed.

If one of these 2 is not approved then I believe we move to the 1st dip past the arched bridge and work the bottom of that. There needs to be dead-fall clearing and logs reset.

This trail day is weather dependent and will be canceled if inclement weather occurs.. Due to the current wet conditions from recent rains and predicted rain this weekend, MSTA management decided to cancel the planned trail work day at Herb Parsons.

The planned work will be rescheduled for a future date when conditions allow for a safe and productive work day.
